All new RELA members will have the opportunity to take a two-day introductory course. It is typically held locally/in situ. The course will expose the member to the duties and responsibilities of RELA. Members of RELA may apply to take further courses at any regional RELA training centres.
Pursuant to the provisions of the Government General Order (Chapter C), a civil servant will be considered for unrecorded leave for the purposes of attending training, a course or annual camp organised by any government agency or voluntary organisation approved by the government. This provision is not applicable to persons employed in the private sector. An employee in the private sector needs to obtain the consideration and approval of his employer for this purpose, with a supporting letter from the district or state RELA officer.
RELA provides more than 20 types of courses for all its members. All these courses are held at the regional RELA training centres. Training prospectuses are distributed to all district RELA offices. Please refer to the RELA office nearest to you for the type and date of course you are interested in. All courses are free for members of RELA.
